The stage is empty and there is only one rule: everything that is about to happen here must be publicly announced in advance. Everything Possible is an improvised performance with extremely limited resources. It begins with a microphone and an open list on which the performers announce their ideas and wishes, rules and suggestions as an unsorted script for the evening. Spontaneously feasible suggestions are interspersed with spectacular visions, the realisation of which seems utopian in the empty space. And while the announcements pile up at the microphone, the performers are already starting to implement them. Some things remain rough sketches, others are fully fleshed out, but nothing should be lost. What is this going to be? A funeral service? A swap meet? A séance? A court hearing? Everything Possible is a training in shared imagination, individual initiative and collaboration. And a celebration of unique presence in theatre.
The performance is improvised, meaning that the performers follow a rough plan, but prepare individually and react spontaneously depending on how the evening unfolds. The promise of a caesura and a new beginning marks the start of the evening. In this, the performance directly ties into Bullshit, the previous show by She She Pop on the stage of HAU1, in which the theatre space was symbolically sold off. What now follows is “poor theatre’” in the sense of a disarmingly unprotected encounter. What could we, who gather here, want from each other? What can we even imagine? All around us, the fortification of our own position is fuelled by polarising discourses, sweeping insinuations and perceived or real pressures to confess; we stand in front of each other, inhibited or mistrustful – in front of financial supporters, in front of colleagues, in front of the audience. So what could a disarming, unprotected encounter look like? “Everything Possible” shifts the focus from the individual perspective to collaboration. Planned (self-)representations are thwarted by unexpected overlaps and acute decisions. The audience may become collaborators, a choir, party guests, an illustrative example, a jury – all depending on the situation. A sketchy image of society, the framework of which constantly shifts from the stage to the auditorium.

The seemingly simple performance is underpinned by philosophical ideas. (…) She She Pop’s play embraces chance and spontaneous inspiration, yet remains clearly structured. The group builds an engaging and sympathetic connection with its audience.
